Our History
1992 – 2022: Founded by Dr. John Billeter
Hanover Animal Hospital was established in 1992 by Dr. John Billeter. In 2001, the practice moved to its current location, where it flourished under his compassionate and steady leadership for three decades, earning the trust of generations of pet owners in the community.
2022 – 2024: A Period of Corporate Ownership
For two years, Hanover Animal Hospital operated under corporate ownership, continuing to provide veterinary care during this transitional phase.
June 17, 2024 – Present: Return to Local Ownership
On June 17, 2024, Dr. Kristy Broaddus acquired Hanover Animal Hospital from Rarebreed, proudly returning the practice to local small business ownership. Hanover Animal Hospital now joins a trusted network of locally owned and operated veterinary clinics, including Veterinary Specialists of Hanover and BetterPet Urgent Care, all based in Mechanicsville.
